How commission is calculated
Commission = net sales × rate. Net sales are order values before tax and shipping, after discounts and returns. With a higher rate above a threshold, the higher rate applies only to the sales above it, the way income tax bands work.
- AED 50,000 of sales at 10% = AED 5,000.
- AED 80,000 at 10%, then 15% above AED 50,000 = AED 9,500 (AED 5,000 + AED 4,500).
Fixed fee, commission or both?
A fixed fee pays for the content; commission pays for results. The break-even line in the calculator shows how much a creator would need to sell for commission alone to match the fee. A fee plus a smaller commission is a common middle ground, especially on monthly ambassador deals. More in affiliate and commission deals with influencers.
Is commission paid on gross or net sales?
Usually net: after discounts and returns, before tax and shipping. That's what this calculator assumes and what statements on The Creators Bio use.
Does the brand's fee come out of the creator's commission?
Not on The Creators Bio. The brand pays the service fee on top; the creator receives the full commission.
